C-mount TV lens Canon 35mm 1.2 Review

A brief review of this funny lens I’ve got from China. If you are into c-mount cctv lens, then you know what you are looking for and I will skip the introduction 🙂

Matches quite well with the OMD.
Matches quite well with the OMD.

sIMGP0544 This lens fits really well with the adaptor, except for one trick: If you got it new, it has to be modified before it can fit on the adaptor. After removing some screws, it might have the problem of over turning and coming out itself. From the design of it, I see more pros than cons as it can do a pretty good close-up, and chances is you can focus close enough before the element come out by itself.

However the bad point is, focusing closer doesn’t necessarily is a good macro. The design doesn’t produce a good magnification.

Pros: Good dreamy bokeh, bright, acceptable sharpness in the center, close focus.

Cons: Bad distortion? (could sometimes be pro), heavy vignetting for 4:3 (16:9 seems okay), hard to grip focus ring, danger of dropping out, blur off center.
