Siglap Road HDB Block before tearing down

The public housing HDB has been around here along Siglap road for 51 years and it will soon be tearing down. There is a nice video made by irememberSG, and I thought perhaps I will go document some photographs of this place where I used to park my bicycle.

““This place was once burnt down.” Metaphorically, it was no child’s play but that was literally true for Siglap’s big fire in 1962. Today, Mr Lim’s old movie ticket is a sentimental memento that reminds him of one of Singapore’s first public housing. Farewell, the four HDB blocks of Siglap.” ~irememberSG

This gentle rubbish collector gave way to me as I accidentally got into his way. There are still some residents remaining, and he carried on doing his job.

The empty hangers are now resting places for the pigeons.

Few remaining resident, I wonder if they have a place to go.
